Part-Time Children's Ministry Director

Overview
The Children’s Ministry Director is responsible for staffing, planning, and preparing for children’s ministry programming, primarily Wednesday Night Programming and Sunday Morning Education.
Qualifications
• Has a sincere commitment to and love for Christ and His Church
• Demonstrated passion for children’s spiritual development and ministry.
• Affirms and is in alignment with the creeds and confessions affirmed by the Alliance of
Reformed Churches.
• Is, or is willing to become, a ministry partner (member) of Vriesland Church.
• Strong organizational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
• Provide leadership and oversight for all children’s ministry programs (birth–5th grade)
• Recruit, train, and support all children’s ministry volunteers.
• Coordinate Sunday School: curriculum, teacher recruitment, and volunteer support
• Oversee the Wednesday Night programs for children in grades Pre-K–5.
• Plan and prepare curriculum for Sunday School and Walk out Worship.
• Plan special events (Vacation Bible School, holiday programs, family activities)
• Develop annual ministry calendar alongside the youth director.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding programs, events, and resources.
• Implement and enforce Ministry Safe training and guidelines.
Location
This position is primarily in-office, though some flexibility is available. Regular in-person
responsibilities include, but are not limited to, Wednesday nights and Sunday worship gatherings.
Reporting
The Children’s Ministry Director will report to the Lead Pastor.
Compensation
Compensation will be hourly, with additional allowances for certain approved expenses and
professional development. This is a part-time, at-will position. The position does not include
benefits such as retirement or health insurance. Vacation and sick pay are calculated based on hours worked per week.
Hourly compensation will be commensurate with the individual’s skill set and level of
experience.
