First Reformed Church (FRC) is located in beautiful, Lynden, Washington. Nestled in the upper corner of Washington State, our community is surrounded by the sparkling Pacific ocean and rivers, majestic mountains, and engaging schools.

FRC is a 113 year old, growing church. We offer men's and women's Bible study, robust children's programs that deepen and engage children to grow a personal relationship with Jesus. Our junior high and senior high ministries meet weekly. Our congregation is deeply rooted in supporting missions and typically sends out 3-4 mission teams per year to various locations around the world. FRC's pillars of Connect, Grow, Serve, and Go are the heartbeat of who we are.

First Reformed Church (FRC), in Lynden, Washington is looking for a Pastor of Discipleship who will lead and oversee all discipleship ministries of FRC. This includes all our small group ministries as well as our Men’s and Women’s Bible studies. Our desire is that they would work toward cultivating a discipleship culture that is Bible based and transformation focused.

We are looking for someone to nurture the families at FRC- creating an emphasis on how discipleship happens in the family and how the home should be the primary place that discipleship happens.

The candidate must model what it means to be a healthy follower of Jesus, showing a living and vibrant faith.

We are looking for an engaged member to join our staff, working closely with Pastor Ryan on the overall direction and ministry focus of FRC. This person must be a leader, know how to build teams and connect people into discipleship groups and opportunities at FRC. The Pastor of Discipleship, along with Pastor Ryan and under the guidance of our leadership team of elders, will help to cast a greater vision for the church in the area of discipleship, imagining how we can go deeper as a congregation into God’s Word together. Part of this role would include being available for pastoral care, counseling, or other pastoral ministry duties throughout the week, and being a part of the regular teaching rotation as assigned by Pastor Ryan.
